Smoking Pork Ribs in Char-Broil Big Easy Smoker, Roaster & Grill
Once you have assembled and seasoned the Char-Broil Big Easy Smoker, Roaster & Grill, you can use it for various cooking methods. We tried smoking ribs and pork shoulders in this vessel, besides roasting some chicken quarters and chuck.
We loved the results – but were floored by the ribs. Here’s what you can do for smoking ribs:
Step 1
Fill the smoker box with wood chips, taking care not to fill it to the brim.
Step 2
Turn on the device and set the heat level to High.
Step 3
Continue for about 10-15 minutes till you see smoke coming out.
Step 4
Cut the rack of baby back ribs into two sections.
Step 5
Cover the ribs with a dry rub of your choice. Make sure that it has no sugar.
Step 6
Place them on the basket’s two shelves and put them in the cooking chamber.
Step 7
Reduce the heat to Low and allow the ribs to cook.
Step 8
Check the temperature once you hit the 45-minute mark.
Your ribs should be done in about an hour, with an internal temperature of about 195F-203F.

While roasting a substantial joint like a piece of chuck, wrap the meat in foil when you’re about 40-50 degrees below the target temperature to lock the juices.

Before grilling, make sure to keep the Big Easy turned on for 15 minutes on High. It may seem like a long wait. But the actual grilling will take only 5 minutes.
