Newair 18 Bottle and 58 Can Wine and Beverage Fridge: Features You’ll Love
I found the assembly process for the Newair 18-Bottle and 58-Can Fridge quite simple. I’ll tell you more a little later. For now, let me tell you about the fantastic features of this fridge.
1. Dual Temperature Zones For Various Drinks
This fridge is a double-door cooler with two separate temperature zones. You can adjust the right side to 41F-72F for any wine and the left to 36F-72F for aerated drinks.
You can store white and red wine at 60F in the right section, with cans of beer, coke, or spritzer in the left zone at around 40F-50F. I also put sparkling wine or white wine here.
2. Stylish and Useful Door
The stainless steel material makes the doors durable and gives them a sharp look – with flushed hinges and stylish handles. Plus, the individual locks keep your drinks safe.
You can only open one at a time to maintain the temperature in each zone.
The doors also have double-paned UV-protected glass to protect the beverages from heat or light.
3. Premium Shelves on Two Sides
Both sides of the fridge have six chrome shelves.
You can adjust them as they’re removable so that you can adjust and maximize space for large bottles and cans. I find most ads for the fridge misleading.
You can put any combo of cans and bottles on each side. One tiny thing that bothers me is the noise of glass or tin against the shelves.
4. Cabinet-Compatible Design
This refrigerator has a front-venting compressor system, which is enough to keep it cool. So it’s ideal for a built-in placement under countertops, in cabinet gaps, etc.
This wine cooler also has the perfect design to be placed as a standalone device anywhere. Its structure is compact and sleek – which makes it ideal for small spaces.
5. Easy-to-Use Thermostat
As I mentioned earlier, there are two temperature zones in the fridge. You can control each zone’s temperature separately using the two digital control panels with touch keys.
These two panels are so easy to use that even a child can operate them. Just press the up/down buttons to raise or lower the cooling effects for the perfect storage conditions.
Is the Newair 18-Bottle and 58-Can Fridge A Good Buy?
I have owned and used other Newair fridges because I love to keep my drinks close at hand. What sets the 18-Bottle and 58-Can Fridge apart from other wine fridges such as the Newair 15 Built-in 29 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Fridge is its ability to accommodate both cans and bottles.
The temperature zones are just right for wine and fizzy drinks.
I find it strange that the brand and its marketing team hardly highlight that you can put both cans and bottles in either zone.
It’s not that the left zone is only for cans. But this size can go as far down as 36F, which is perfect for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic aerated drinks.
You can keep any combination of white, red, sparkling, and rosé wine – with beer, hard soda, spritzers, soft drinks, and seltzer water.
Altogether, it’s ideal for keeping your favorite drinks at the serving temperature while maintaining their quality.
Installing Newair 18 Bottle and 58 Can Wine and Beverage Fridge
As I mentioned earlier, the installation process is extremely easy when it comes to this Newair fridge. Here are the simple steps to do it –
Step 1
After unboxing, attach the metal handles to the door. Each door has a set of two pre-drilled holes for the screws. Push the screws through them to fix the handles.
Step 2
Set the height of the unit using the adjustable legs of the fridge. All four legs rotate and allow you to raise or lower the height of the unit to match your need.
Step 3
While the fridge doesn’t need much space on the sides, leave enough room for the doors to open outward at a slight angle so that the shelves can be pulled out.
Step 4
I’d advise you to leave the fridge standing upright in its place for 24 hours before turning it on. Then, plug it into the power source and turn on the machine.
That’s all you need to install and start the machine. Before placing your beverage bottles in the fridge, just adjust the temperature in each zone.
How to Maintain Temperature for Wine and Aerated Drinks in Newair Wine and Beverage Fridge
The Newair Wine and Beverage Fridge have two separate temperature zones for wine and aerated drinks. The left zone can be adjusted to 36F and above, while the right zone’s lowest temperature is 41F. Here’s how to maintain the temperature zones for different drinks –
Step 1
White and rosé wine’s serving temperature is 50F-60F, while that of red wine is 60F-70F. So the common temperature point to store all these wine types is 60F.
Step 2
Sparkling wine, on the other hand, needs 40-50 degrees for a chilling effect.
Step 3
Soft drinks, including seltzer, need lower than 42F, based on the beverage brand.
Step 4
50F is a good temperature for most beer types like wheat beer, stout beer, bock beer, pilsner, IPA, and lager. But barley wine needs to be stored at 50F-60F.
So, you can fix the left zone at 60 degrees and store your regular white, red, and rosé wine and barley wine in the right zone. Meanwhile, maintain a mid-50F level for various beer types.
Or, you can take a simple path if you live with your family and divide the fridge into a kids-friendly zone and an adult-friendly zone. Maintain around 36F-42F for all soft drinks and 50F-60 F for your wine, beer, and hard soda.
