A wine fridge keeps a medium-sized wine collection at serving temperature. But don’t you hate it when you have to reset its temperature level after a power cut? To solve your problem, you can choose the Kalamera 46 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Refrigerator.

Kalamera’s 46-bottle dual zone wine fridge is a great cooler to keep any wine chilled and ready to serve anytime. It’s a stylish and useful machine – with an amazing memory function that allows it to remember the temperature set by you even after a blackout.

If you live in a blackout-prone region, the Kalamera 46-Bottle Wine Fridge might be what you need. Take a look at my experience of using the cooler!

Kalamera 46 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Refrigerator: Features I Loved

I like to serve and drink every wine in the perfect condition – whether it’s low-cost vin ordinaire or some liquid gold from Bordeaux. That’s why I love wine fridges and have tried various wine fridges, including the Kalamera 46-Bottle Wine Fridge. Here’s what I liked –

Stylish and Compact Look

The first thing you’ll notice is its appearance. With a width of less than 24”, it’s sleek enough to fit anywhere within a small space in your kitchen, bar, bachelor pad, etc.

The use of stainless steel in its body and door border, the wooden shelves that can be seen through the glass, and the blue light from inside give this fridge a great look!

Digital Control Panel for Easy Adjustment

The digital control panel is inside the fridge on the front of one of the shelves. Just touch the buttons on the panel to access different buttons for power, temperature, light, etc.

I found a few random reports of slow displays of temperature change on the panel though I haven’t experienced it. Contrarily, I find it quite easy to tune the temperature.

Dual Temperature Zones for Wine

Similar to the Nutrichef PKCWC120 Refrigerator the Kalamera has a dual temperature zone.

The upper section of the fridge has a temperature range of 40F-50F, and the lower section is 50F-66F.

You may know that white wine should be chilled more than red wine.

Keep the red wine bottles at 60 degrees or above in one section – and white and rosé wine at 50F-60F in the lower zone. This zone is also ideal for keeping sparkling wine at 40F-50F.

Built-In Design Compatibility

The fridge has a front-venting compression system, which means it doesn’t require a lot of breathing space all around. So it fits within a bar counter or under-counter space.

It also has a freestanding design that doesn’t demand a lot of space. You can install it in any part of the house. I love that this sleek machine can add oomph to a small space.

Sturdy Door

The fridge door, with a stainless steel border and handle and tinted double-layered glass, is not just for show. It can keep your wine bottles protected from heat or UV rays.

It has a sturdy seal to lock in the cold. Plus, it’s reversible – which means you can open it from the right or the left. All of this – while displaying the bottles in a magical blue light!

Quiet, Even Cooling

The unit is equipped with two powerful circulation fans. It works with the compressor and ensures even cooling throughout the cooler. So, no need to worry about hot spots!

So your wine will be safe, especially with the carbon filter that prevents odor. The fans and the compressor work quietly like a regular fridge. I hardly notice it when it’s working.

Temperature Memory Function

The most impressive feature of this fridge is, hands down, the temperature memory function. That means it can remember the temperature you set for the two zones.

If there is a power failure, the unit will not go back to factory settings, and you won’t need to reset the temperature. I find this a convenient way to protect my wine for longer.

Is the Kalamera 46 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Refrigerator Worth Buying?

The Kalamera 46 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Refrigerator is meant for a small collection of standard wine bottles while adding a luxe touch to a small space. It will keep your favorite wine at the perfect temperature – and the beverage will always be nearby, ready to serve.

I admit it could be a little roomier – because fitting more than three fat bottles can be tricky. You’ll need to remove or adjust shelves quite a bit to keep 46 bottles and access them smoothly. But I keep around 42-45 long 750 ml bottles and hardly experience any issue.

What I love most is the memory function. You don’t have to reset the temperature every time there’s a power outage. This feature makes it a must-have if you live in a blackout-prone region like California, Texas, New York, Ohio, or Michigan.

How to Clean Your Kalamera Wine Fridge

The Kalamera Wine Fridge, like most wine fridges, is fairly low-maintenance. I’d advise you to clean the machine once in a while to ensure that it is in perfect condition. I suggest following the steps below every 3-6 months.

  1. Disconnect the unit from the power source first. Then, remove all the wine bottles from the fridge and keep them in a cool place, preferably in the fridge.
  2. Pull out the wooden shelves. Wipe them with a clean cloth. It’s best to use a dry cloth as the shelves are wooden. If you use a damp cloth, dry them with a dry cloth, too.
  3. Wipe down the inside with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Make sure it’s not wet or too damp, as moisture can lead to mildew or mold and harm the wine.
  4. To clean the outside, you can use a light solution or make one using baking soda. Apply it to the exterior walls, wipe it with a wet cloth piece, and pat it dry.
  5. Make sure to oil the hinges of the fridge door every three months. Doing so will ensure the door moves smoothly and prevent rusting and squeaking.
  6. Once everything is dry, plug the unit into the power source and press and turn it on. Once it cools down, put the shelves back on and replace the wine bottles.
